INTRODUCTION

Toets Delight is a dessert ordering platform created to simplify how customers discover, order, and enjoy freshly baked pastries such as cakes, cookies, puff puff, and seasonal specials. The project was conceived as a full design challenge where I handled the customer-facing website and app as well as the admin dashboard for bakers and managers. The goal was to deliver a delightful ordering experience that feels modern, indulgent, and intuitive while providing a powerful admin side to seamlessly manage products, customers, and orders.

PROBLEM & SOLUTION

Most small bakeries rely on manual ordering systems or third-party platforms like WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, Phone Calls or delivery apps. This often creates confusion, delays, and missed opportunities to connect directly with customers. Customers face the challenge of unclear product catalogs, no real-time order updates, and limited transparency on delivery. On the bakery side, admins struggle to manage orders, update product availability, or run promotions effectively.

WHAT WAS SOLVED

The Toets Delight project addressed these gaps by creating a complete dessert ordering system. On the customer side, it offers a clear product catalog with images, prices, cart management, delivery options, and order tracking. On the admin side, it provides tools to manage inventory, track customer orders, run promotions, and monitor analytics. This solution empowers bakeries to deliver a premium experience while streamlining operations.

DESIGN PROCESS

I approached the problem with a structured design process.

Researched pain points from both customer and bakery perspectives.

Created user personas to guide design decisions.

Designed user flows and information architecture to map out the journey.

Built wireframes and prototypes for both customer and admin sides.

Conducted informal interviews and testing to refine the interface.

Developed high-fidelity mockups with a warm, bakery-inspired visual identity.

DESIGN INSIGHTS

Toets Retreats serves two distinct user groups: sweet-toothed customers and busy bakers/admins. Each had unique needs, customers wanted a smooth, joyful ordering experience with trust and clarity, while bakers required streamlined control over products, orders, and fulfillment.

  • Customers highly value visual appeal of product images and clear prices before making decisions.

  • Receiving updates on order preparation and delivery increases trust and encourages repeat orders.

  • Admin users want the ability to bulk upload products and automate promotions instead of handling them manually.

  • Small touches like loyalty rewards or birthday offers make customers feel valued and differentiate the brand.

CONCLUSION

The final solution was a polished, user-friendly platform that transformed how bakeries like Toets Delight can manage their business. Customers can now easily browse, order, and track their favorite treats in a seamless flow. Admins benefit from a clear dashboard where they can manage inventory, track sales, and engage customers with promotions. The visual design leaned into warm, appetizing colors and modern typography to balance professionalism with a cozy, indulgent vibe.


This project not only solved the immediate pain points but also created a scalable foundation that can grow into a larger bakery ecosystem with loyalty programs, catering orders, and delivery integrations. It highlighted my ability to combine research, design thinking, and visual execution to deliver an end-to-end digital product experience.
